US expected to sanction IDF over human rights violations in West Bank US House of Representatives on Saturday approved additional military aid for Israel despite growing concerns over human rights violations in the West Bank, including the death of 80-year-old Palestinian-American Omar Assad in 2022 who died in the custody of Israeli forces. The US is expected to sanction the IDF for the first time with Secretary of State Antony Blinken promising "results soon" when questioned at a recent presser in Italy.
