Soup kitchens forced to shut as report finds more than half of Argentines in poverty More than half of Argentines now live in poverty, according to data released Tuesday, with levels rising non-stop since a year ago and quickening since budget-slashing President Javier Milei took office. With food shortages and high inflation rates putting Argentinians into financial stress, more and more need food but distribution centres have been forced to close.
