Hawaii wildfires: Biden said he'd make sure that state received "everything it needs" to recover In Hawaii, officials say they expect the death toll from the wildfires to sharply increase, with up to a thousand people estimated to be missing. At least 55 people have died, since the fires began on the west of the island on Tuesday. Thousands are living in makeshift shelters. We're hearing accounts of tourists and residents forced to jump into the sea and tread water for hours, because of the speed and spread of the flames. And Lahaina, the picture postcard town and one of the oldest on the island, has been almost completely destroyed. FRANCE 24's Vedika Bahl tells us more.
