Brazil riots: Supreme court opens first trials over pro-Bolsonaro unrest Sitting in one of the buildings that was stormed by supporters of former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil's Supreme Court kicked off the first trials over the January 8 riots. The court's 11 justices will deliver their decisions one by one in each case, with a majority needed to secure a conviction.
