50 years after Pinochet coup in Chile: Clashes, arson mar march to commemorate victims In the Chilean capital Santiago, protesters have clashed with police who used tear gas and water canon to disperse them. The unrest coming on the sidelines of a march to commemorate the victims of Augusto Pinochet's military dictatorship, 50 years after the coup that brought him to power. President Gabriel Boric had briefly joined the procession of some 5,000 people, but later condemnded the violence that followed. FRANCE 24's Gavin Lee reports.
